Precious metal has always been one of the core competences of Heimerle + Meule. Founded as a classical gold and silver refinery in 1845 in Pforzheim, the company has developed into a complete supplier on the precious metal processing market. Pure metals recovered from waste or residues containing precious metal using state-of-the-art process technology are specifically alloyed for the jewellery and clock-making industry, for subcontractors to the automotive industry, the electrical and electronic industry, and for dental laboratories and are further processed into semi-finished products, salts or solutions. Heimerle + Meule, a medium-sized enterprise with a lot of freedom for economic initiative of its own, is integrated into the Lübeck-based Possehl Group.

Our laboratories are excellently equipped for analyses, material testing and metallurgical examinations, especially when it comes to sensitive medical products. Since 1920, we have developed alloy systems for individual indications in our own R&D department.

Electroplating baths, electroplating units and systems

Based on the practical application in our job plating shop, we have developed a comprehensive line of precious metal electrolytes. Our wide range of instruments includes small electroplating units for goldsmiths as well as electronically controlled automated electroplating systems customized to specific applications.


Job plating shop

Strips, punching strips, drum and frame components for electrical engineering and electronics are refined in our high-performance electroplating shop.
Our decorative job plating shop leaves nothing to be desired with respect to alloys, colours or layer thickness.
In particular, products from the jeweller’s workshop, optics, writing utensils and the clock and watch industries are being electroplated.
Instruments and systems for recovering precious metal
Heimerle + Meule is offering their partners in the industry a chance to carry out the recycling process largely on their own at their own premises. This leads to a reduction of expenses in the recycling process and cuts the costs for transportation to the refinery to a minimum, since large quantities of liquids containing precious metal (usually hazardous cargo) need no longer be transported to the refinery.
